Weekly Photo Challenge: Lost in the Details

detail |diˈtāl; ˈdētāl|

an individual feature, fact, or item

I find that this photo has stand-out details: the veins that spread upon the leaf it is a vivid comparison to our own body, us carrying blood-filled channels as well as our smooth, resilient  skin, a mask of our humanity with the light of our soul somehow shining through.

Revising the Ordinary

“Everything has beauty, but not everyone sees it.” ~Confucius

How often do we REALLY work with our vision (artistic and physical) to see ordinary things as truly beautiful, even extraordinary in some angles: Long-left towels on a clothesline, the way the light of twilight caresses a certain tree on the roadside? In fact, what makes these things even CAPABLE of beauty, be it the questions we ask or the proverbial light that can get shone on the object?

Here are a few photographs that I took that ran my memory about such an widely debated concept:

I would love to hear your take on such a concept in the comment section! Have a great weekend!

The Fascination of Fog.

Most seem haunted by the fog, as well as the rain that can sometimes accompany it.

To them it is a veil that has dropped making the world lose it’s respective color. But for me it often heralds a time of inspiration, renewal, and (I dare to even say) comfort!

Here are a few photos chronicling my inspiring walk down near my small island town’s port/ferry landing and I hope you enjoy them! But if you do choose to include these very photos on your own blog or elsewhere on the web, please be courteous and ask for my permission. Also, please link back to this post…that is all I ask!

And I ask you: What weather inspires you and gives you comfort? I would love to hear all about it in the comment section!

Thank you for reading!
